Joanna joined JetBlue in 2005 and was most recently Executive Vice President, Customer Experience, responsible for delivering the JetBlue experience to millions of customers annually through her leadership of 15,000 customer-facing crewmembers.
She served as Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer from 2010-2014 and was previously the airline’s Vice President and Associate General Counsel and Director of Litigation and Regulatory Affairs. She is Past President of the JetBlue Foundation and Chairperson of the board of Concern Worldwide, an international not-for-profit. Prior to joining JetBlue she was a partner at a New York law firm.

With more than a decade of experience, Amna specializes in aviation and transportation focused regulatory compliance counselling, commercial transactions and litigation. As a senior enforcement attorney at the US Department of Transportation, Amna was at the forefront of US transportation regulatory efforts, drafting and enforcing federal regulations and guidance materials and leading investigations and audits of US and international airlines. She also has several years of experience at top US Am Law 100 firms advising all types of global transportation clients – from major US and non-US air carriers, to transportation start-ups, as well as Fortune 100 companies, in a variety of domestic and international transportation regulatory matters. In 2018, Amna was recognized by Law360 as a “Transportation Rising Star” for her leadership in aviation regulation and litigation and experience counseling major airlines on high-profile matters.
Amna has served as an aviation regulatory expert on the Law360 Transportation Editorial Board since 2016 and currently serves as the Treasurer of the International Aviation Club of Washington, DC. She also serves on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Capitol Area Immigrants’ Rights Coalition and devotes considerable pro bono time advocating for detained immigrants and victims of sex trafficking.
