Deputy Assistant Secretary for Aviation & International Affairs, U.S. DOT

Deputy Assistant Secretary Short will provide an update on how the DOT is working with other governmental entities and the domestic and international aviation industry in seeking to facilitate the continued operation of air services in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The view from DOT will include:

  • DOT efforts to assist aviation in serving domestic, regional, rural, and international markets
  • The DOT role on the White House Coronavirus Task Force
  • CARES Act economic relief for the industry
  • FAA measures to keep the ATC system functioning in the face of Coronavirus-related challenges
  • DOT actions affecting other modes of transport such as transit and highways
  • DOT efforts to restore public confidence in air travel and promote the return to normal operations as the global economy “re-opens”

There is no charge to participate in this program.
