The prestigious annual L. Welch Pogue Award for lifetime achievement in aviation will be presented at a gala dinner on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
The first L. Welch Pogue Award was presented in 1994 to its namesake, the former chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Board and a U.S. Delegate at the Chicago Convention, which created the legal blueprint for post-WWII expansion of commercial aviation. This year, the Award will be presented to Marion Blakey.
Marion Blakey joins a long line of preeminent L. Welch Pogue Award winners who have helped shape modern international commercial air transportation. She is a former FAA Administrator, has served as CEO of Rolls-Royce North America and the Aerospace Industries Association, and currently sits on the boards of Alaska Air Group, Noblis, and Cobham.
The L. Welch Pogue Award is jointly presented by the International Aviation Club, Aviation Week Network, and Jones Day.
*Sponsorships received after September 3, will not be included in printed program, but will receive all other benefits.*
