This year's L. Welch Pogue Award will be presented to Dave Barger.
Renowned international airline executive and aviation safety advocate Dave Barger is this year’s recipient of the prestigious L. Welch Pogue Lifetime Achievement Award.
Barger joins a long line of preeminent Welch Pogue Award winners who have helped shape modern commercial air transportation. He will be honored at the Annual L. Welch Pogue Award Dinner in Washington, D.C., on June 22, 2016.
This year’s L. Welch Pogue Award Dinner will again be held at Jones Day, 51 Louisiana Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, June 22.
ABOUT THE L. WELCH POGUE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD:
The L. Welch Pogue Award was first presented in 1994 to L. Welch Pogue, former chairman of the Civil Aviation Board and a US Delegate at the Chicago Convention, which created the legal blueprint for post-WWII expansion of commercial aviation. Past recipients include FAA Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety Peggy Gilligan, former IATA Director General Giovanni Bisignani, retired Southwest Airlines CEO Herb Kelleher and former US Civil Aeronautics Board Chairman Alfred E. Kahn.
